Entry and Customs in Iceland

Customs

Unless you’re staying in Iceland for an extended stay, almost all tourists from foreign countries do not need a visa to enter Iceland.
A passport however is required to enter Iceland from any other country. In 2001, Iceland adopted the Schengen agreement.
What that means for you is that you can travel between participating countries, including Iceland, without formal passport control. However, a passport is still required when flying from Iceland to another Schengen country.
Some other countries that participate in the Schengen agreement include: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Germany.
